The company is currently looking for a workshop assistant, initially for a three-month project starting in January 2019, but with a view to longer-term work.
The job will include a range of tasks from the routine (looking after tools, keeping the workshop tidy), to the technical (mould making, casting, carpentry) to the creative (modelling in clay). Training will be given in all aspects of our work, but accuracy, attention to detail and willingness to muck in with the mundane aspects of workshop life is essential. Formal qualifications are not required but candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in the arts and an aptitude for practical work. Good observational drawing ability and/or modelling skills would be a great advantage.
This is a full time position (Monday to Friday, 8.30am–6.00pm) based three miles outside Exeter. You’ll need your own transport. The rate of pay is likely to be around the level of the national minimum wage. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to undertake a short practical trial for which expenses will be paid.
To apply please email a cv and short letter telling us about your training and your recent work, and why you want to work for us. Please include no more than 6 photographs of relevant work.
Closing date: Wednesday 31stOctober 2018
